Oakland picture and poem

As you all know, we went on a field trip to Oakland Cemetery last week. As a project, we had to take pictures of all the letters of a word we picked. We then had to write a poem about our word.

Historic poem

This poem is historic
This poem is about historic
This poem could make history
It isn’t a mystery
That we went to the cemetery
To take a lot of pics and see
Everyone is listening
When Ms. Trish is speaking
Death is pretty scary
That’s why I’m never dying
And I’m never lying
Like Drizzy
Being around death makes me feel bitter
Just don't forget to follow me
On twitter
The end

Oakland Field Trip

                                                 Oakland Cemetary

Today, we went to Oakland Cemetery. We learned a lot of new things about the history of Atlanta and the Civil War. We had to take a lot of pictures of the gravestones and the statues that were there. The most interesting statue to me was the Neal Family statue. It was a statue about John Neal’s wife and daughter and it was a very nice sculpture. I think I took a lot of good pictures and I can’t wait for them to get hung up in the hallway.
I learned that one of the confederate signs is the same sign the KKK uses. I also learned that Coca Cola was created by a Jewish man. I also learned that Coca Cola was first a form of medicine because it was first made in a pharmacy. I liked visiting the slave section of the cemetery because it looked so nice and it reminded me of my ancestors. There were a bunch of statues and little houses there.  It was the nicest part of the cemetery to me.

Weekly reflection 9/7/2012

My Georgia rivers map
This week was a great and interesting week.  In sports, we won two soccer games this week and lost none. I learned all about the Georgia water system this week. I learned about the watersheds and river basins of Georgia.   I learned how to use iphoto this week as well. I learned a lot of new things about how to use my computer that I didn’t know how to do before. I learned how to play better defense in basketball, too. I think that I did way better with completing my homework this week than last week and I think that I’m paying better attention in class. Next week, I’m going to try to work on getting all of my materials ready when I am changing classes, like when I am going to transition to and from my math class. I’m also going to try to be more enthusiastic when I am in class and answer more questions and raise my hand more.

Weekly reflection 9/5/2012

My name is Ajani Issa. I love to dance and roller skate. I try to go to the skating rink every weekend. I love animals like dogs and dolphins if I could own a dolphin I would. I love basketball, it is my favorite sport. I want to play point guard the most because the fate of the whole game is mostly up to me and I learned to love that pressure. I love girls, too. I’m not one of those types of guys who can just hang around other guys all of the time and no girls. My favorite color is purple. Everybody says it’s a chick color but to me it is the most manly color. That’s why I like LSU so much because of their color.
